Lake Albert Gun Club 100 Target Day

Swan Earthmovers Medley

100 Target Medley Shoot Sunday 5th June 2022

During June, the local Lake Albert Gun Club held the Swan Earthmovers 100 Target Medley Shoot.

On the 5th of June, in cold and wet conditions, four grades played off a clay target competition.

Eagerly contested, each competition fought for a top spot and a runner-up.

All winners then had a chance for the overall winner of the day.

A word from the Sectary
As Renee Davey, the current secretary of the Lake Albert Gun Club, explained, ‘the 100 Target Medley involves shooters doing 25 targets Double Barrel, then 25 marks Single Barrel, 25 targets Point score, and 25 targets Continental.

This gives an event with a more significant target number and a greater complexity; Single Barrel and Continental can be a great leveller, and consistency in hitting the first shot is required to get a good point score.

We have a great competition to push them all together for one event! Add in some great prizes from generous sponsors and some pretty sashes, and it’s on!!

Unfortunately, the weather was certainly not kind to us. The wind and rain storms, low light and the arctic conditions certainly did not make for a beautiful shoot.

But it has been a long time since many of us have had to don wet weather gear for a shoot, so we will not complain!

The lucky winners were:

Len DeCandia C Grade Runner Up

Master Luke Batten AA Grade Runner up

Gary Schmidt B Grade Runner up

Mark Batten A Grade Winner

Renee Davy C Grade Winner

Richard Wheaton B Grade Winner

Bob Andrews Overall day Winner and AA Grade Winner

Each grade winner received a $100 voucher to the Adelaide Gun Shop and a Swan Earthmovers mug. The runner-ups of each grade were awarded a Swan Earthmovers duffle bag and a Swan Earthmovers mug.

But the most coveted trophy for the day was the Overall Winner, which went to Bob Andrews.

Bob received a $300 voucher for the Adelaide Gun Shop and a Swan Earthmovers coffee mug.
